Study in the UK with the support of a Chevening Scholarship from iib Group

The iib Group is an international banking group that’s committed to driving sustainable growth in regions ranging from Europe to Africa and the Middle East.

Driven by the belief that true, lasting development is powered by people, and that investing in human capital is the most effective catalyst for change, iib Group is equipping a new generation with the tools they need to build a more prosperous and resilient future for their communities and to strengthen ties between Africa and the world.

Who do they sponsor?

in Group sponsors two Chevening Scholarships for applicants from Cape Verde and Djibouti.

To be considered for these awards, there are no course restrictions. You can choose to study any Chevening-eligible course at any UK university. However, preference will be given to those wishing to study courses related to the priorities below.

Cape Verde

To represent iib West Africa, they are looking for visionaries from Cape Verde who can drive sustainable development in the Blue Economy, tourism, and renewable energy.

Djibouti

To represent iib East Africa, they are seeking future leaders from Djibouti who can navigate the complexities of international logistics, finance, and regional diplomacy to ensure that growth translates into opportunity for all.

Hear from iib Group:

‘In Cape Verde and Djibouti, we see not just markets, but vibrant communities on the cusp of transformative growth. These two nations, while distinct in their cultures and geographies, share a common trait: they are strategic hubs with immense potential. We believe that their greatest resource is not their geographic position, but their people. By sponsoring these scholarships, we are investing in the leaders who will harness their nation’s potential.

‘Our partnership with Chevening is a natural extension of our purpose: To help people achieve their ambitions.

‘We believe that the most impactful investment we can make is in the people who will lead this transformation. By supporting scholars from these countries, we are not just funding an education, we are empowering future leaders with the global perspective, knowledge, and network to solve local challenges and create lasting, positive change.’
