Terms and conditions for Chevening events

Conduct

Chevening awardees belong to a unique group of future leaders from around the world who have been personally selected by the UK government to study in the UK. Whilst in the UK you are an ambassador for both Chevening and for your home country and your actions should reflect and uphold the values of Chevening.

Remind yourselves of the terms and conditions of your award here.

Eventbrite and passwords

Tickets are advertised monthly via the Scholargram and available on Eventbrite.

Tickets are password-protected. Passwords can always be found in the Scholargram.

If you haven’t received the Scholargram, please check your junk/spam folder first. If it’s not there, please contact your Programme Officer who will send you another copy and ensure your email is correct.

Claiming a ticket

Interest in our in-person events programme is high. You can read more about our ballot ticketing system here.

Successful applicants will be notified via email and must claim their ticket within 24 hours. If you do not claim it, the ticket will be offered to someone on the waitlist.

Only those who have claimed a ticket will be allowed entry. If you cannot provide evidence of your ticket, you will not be allowed in. Please ensure you receive the automated confirmation email as proof of your claimed ticket.

Please contact engage@chevening.org if you do not receive an automated confirmation email after claiming a ticket through Eventbrite.

Cancellation policy

If you cannot attend, please inform us immediately so your spot can go to another scholar.

The final deadline to cancel is 10:00 UK time, three working days before the event.

Failure to cancel on time or not attending without a valid reason may result in a ban from future Chevening events.

On the day

We expect you to arrive on time for registration and the start of the event. If you are late, the event will start without you. In some cases, this may mean that you will miss out on the entire event, so please do arrive on time.

Accessibility

Please ensure that you make the Secretariat aware in advance of any accessibility or mobility requirements you may have at an event.

The Secretariat will make every effort to ensure that reasonable adjustments can be put in place for you to attend but in some cases this may not be possible, for example where a historic venue is not fully accessible. It is your responsibility to check the schedule of the day and contact the Secretariat with any queries.

Dietary requirements

Where an event includes refreshments, it is your responsibility to inform the Secretariat prior to the event of any food allergies/dietary requirements.
